McKenzie van der Merwe & Willemse is a highly professional law firm in Kempton Park that was incorporated in February 2001, when Aletta van der Merwe and Tewie Willemse joined forces. Both of them are also admitted conveyancers and notaries. Although we are a relatively small practise we offer legal services in virtually all fields of the law. Our speciality is conveyancing, the administration of estates, the preparation of various agreements including commercial agreements, as well as civil litigation.

We are on the bond panels of First National Bank, Standard Bank and Nedbank, and have the necessary sophisticated software to administer bond registrations for these institutions. This enables us to keep our clients informed of progress electronically via sms and email.

In 2017 the firm was joined by Dries Cronje, a young and energetic attorney who mainly concentrate on litigation related matters. He is also able to assist with labour related matters.

Aletta van der Merwe

Aletta van der Merwe was admitted as an attorney in 1985 after completing the degree B.Proc. She was later admitted as conveyancer and notary and has been in business of law since 1981 when she started her articles. Apart from conveyancing and notarial work, she is an expert with the administration of estates, commercial law in general and drafting of contracts, wills and other specialised agreements. She has served as a Councillor for the Gauteng Law Society for the last decade and also acts as Commissioner of the Small Claims Court for the last two decades.

Tewie Willemse

Tewie Willemse was admitted as attorney, conveyancer and notary in 1993 and obtained his B.Iuris and LLB degrees at the Free State University in 1988 and 1990 respectively. He specialises in conveyancing and has completed various courses in Sectional Title/Home Owners Association management. He has developed a unique Memorandum of Incorporation for Home Owners Associations in accordance with the new Companies Act and has already assisted various Home Owners Associations in this regard. He has succeeded in building up a very successful conveyancing practice and is currently assisting some of the largest estate agencies in Kempton Park with conveyancing and matters relating thereto. He also administers estates in record time and is passionate in providing the best service to all his clients at all times.

Dries Cronje

Dries Cronje obtained his LLB degree from the University of Pretoria in 2009. He was admitted as an attorney in 2012 and obtained his LLM (Tax Law) from the University of South Africa in 2014. Dries is an expert litigant with a track record of success in both complicated and simple matters. He acts on behalf of corporate clients and individuals. He is frank about the strength and risks of a client’s case in order to devise a stratagem with the client best suited for the specific case, taking into account his clients’ financial situation and making sure that they have access to the Law within their means.
